Behind the scenes; take one

Getting my feet wet in video. My wife bought me a new iPhone for Christmas! Last weekend was the first chance I got to se what it can do as far as video is concerned.

I decided to do a behind the scenes of an outdoor photo shoot.

I have to tell you that I really enjoyed putting this whole thing together! There is definitely going to be some more of these in the future!

Reaching our goals

Edit-lmvphoto-101231-1062

This is my good friend and excellent photographer Chris, with great clients and his help LMVPhoto has more than reached it's goals for 2010!

Goals aren't measured in just dollars and cents, it's also measured in friendships. We really hit the jackpot with friends this year! Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, who could have imagined all the help and support that was out there! Thank you to all LMVPhoto's friends, and especially Chris for all the suport this year! Looking forward to 2011!

Merry Christmas!

That magical time of the year is upon us again.

2010 has been a wonderful year for LMVPhoto!
New logo, new friends, what an exciting time it has been. I would like to personally thank all of my clients for all their support this year, with out whom this business wouldn't be possible.
Thank you everyone for a great year!
Looking forward to doing it again in 2011.

Trick or Treat smell my feet

Linvilla-101023-10018

Give me something good to eat!

As soon as I saw it I knew we had to get it!

Love this time of year, the colors, the cool weather and don't forget pumpkin pie!

We went to Linvilla Orchards today, the weather was great for pumpkin picking.
The food is so good there, fresh cut potato chips, deep fried apples fritters, funnel cake, and that's just what I had.

Why am I here in Atlantic City again?

Atlanticcity-100925-10001

So why am I in a parking lot in Atlantic City; my camera on a shopping cart; my flash in my hand?

Got a message through FaceBook a couple of weeks ago, about a suprise party for good friend I haven't seen in a long time.
"Surprise party at the house" it said. Cool! It would be great to get together with everybody again.

Then she gets back to us, the house party is off, but a dinner in Atlantic City, 8pm......
OK
AC is a good hour, hour and a half with traffic. My daughter has a softball game early the next day, I also have a maternity shoot the next day.
But how could I not go? I haven't seen these people in years!

7pm
Arrive in AC, I just realize I have no cash for parking! (yes I don't carry cash, sue me) Now I cursing up a storm for not carrying cash.
7:05pm
My Android phone navigates me to a Mac machine, (yippee!) I start to sweat on my third attempt to enter my pin number, oh why did I make it eight numbers long?
7:10pm
I stop panicing, I can now legally park.
7:30pm
Check in with the restaurant, I'm the first one there.
8:00pm
No one there yet, no problem, they must be running late.
8:15pm
      Getting a little hungry now.
8:25pm
Let me call her and see what's up. Hmm that's funny, she doesn't list her number on FB. Let me try the other people who are supposed to come. Oh, they don't list there number either, hmm. That's OK, I see she posted to FB how she was going to this restaurant for dinner tonight. They must be on there way still.
8:45pm
"Are you sure on one has arrived yet?" I ask the hostess. No,  no one yet sir. (Maybe they are really late......)
9:00pm
      I buy a hat.
9:10pm
      No one.
9:20pm
      No one.
9:25pm
      OK WTF?
9:30pm
I REALLY FRIGGIN HUNGRY NOW! And still no one.

One last look to make sure...........

Without any way of actually having  a way to contact someone in real time, I give up and head home, well at least not before I take this picture.

It's that time of year again!

It's that time of year again, when the leaves change colors and the noses start to run.

I think I get more excited about the first day of school than the kids do at the last day of school!

Nice end to Summer

This is a male Monarch butterfly. How do I know you ask?
My nine year old told me!

My daughter signed up for butterfly club last year. We started a little garden out back in the yard, which by the way comes in real handy when you need a quick pic.
I helped her plant milkweed and other plants butterflies like. I broke my back  keeping it weed free all by myself The whole family pitched in to keep it weed free.

Then about three weeks ago we found our first caterpillar in the garden! She brought it in and I reminded her she remembered to feed it everyday, sometimes twice.
Lucky for us we  grew the milk weed, those little suckers can eat! (remember the book you read to your kids?)

Three weeks ago we got our first chrysalis (another fancy word I learned from the nine year old) and today it hatched.
She got to witness it first hand, which was pretty cool if you ask me.
We have two more chrysalis' ready to hatch soon....
A nice end to Summer.

*Red tailed hawk, one of the many large birds of prey at the wildlife refuge*

I came home the other night  to discover the high winds had blown over a Morning Dove nest with two babies in it.
To my surprise the chicks were still alive. My kids helped me make them a shelter. One baby didn't make it over night. The other one, well we named him "Lucky".

Someone suggested we look for a wild life refuge. We found a wildlife refuge close by. They had some amazing animals there, like this red tailed hawk, and 3 bald eagles. They mind these hurt animals, then release them in the wild when better.
Good thing I brought the camera along!

New Logo!

Lmv-photo-logo

Been home recuperating after surgery and decided to have a look at my New Years goals.
Top of the list?
Becoming a brand. That meant a logo.
I submitted a design challenge online and in no time a great designer came up with this picture you see!

So instead of sitting in front of the TV watching NCIS reruns, I actually got something done!

#1 Logo.  Check!

Let's see what's #2 on the list?
Loose weight.

Does having a 5cm tumor removed count? :P
